Leader Närheten and Leader 7-sam Värmland have joined forces to jointly implement a collaborative project to start up and become part of the concept "We Country Builders".

In the development of each leader area's development strategies, SWOT analyses were made that account for strengths, opportunities, risks, weaknesses and threats. What have been recurring concerns throughout the program periods are the aging population, emigration, reduced non-profit commitment, increased consumer mentality and of course also other elements such as centralization, politics and more. Through this project, we want to help strengthen the fantastic opportunities that exist in our rural areas and here we see the concept "We the Rural Builders" as a very good tool to use and which can have positive effects for both those who live and work in the countryside but also that it can influence public actors in terms of seeing, taking advantage of and supporting rural initiatives. The project will work to influence and create a more positive image of the rural areas in Värmland and based on this create an attractive place to live and work in.

By focusing on creative actors in rural areas, Vi Landsbyggare Värmland can contribute to local collaborations, expertise and driving force based on the resources and opportunities of the regions through the following initiatives:

– Marketing and visibility: Make rural residents visible and highlight them through the production of film and visual material and dissemination via campaigns.

– Skills development: Networking and knowledge-raising activities through meetings and "country builder days".

– Inspiration: Be inspiring by annually carrying out an event to highlight and reward this year's rural visionaries in various categories. - The image of the countryside: Through attitude work, create a positive image of Värmland's countryside.

Project purpose and goals

The aim of the project is to highlight Värmland's enthusiasts according to the established concept Vi Landsbyggare via a collaborative project with Leader 7-sam. We want to inspire and create a more positive image of the countryside in Värmland as an attractive place to live and work.

The main activities include:

– Continuous marketing and content creation of the countryside and its enthusiasts via the concept We Rural Watchers.
