Umbrella project right now!

Now you can apply for simpler project support:

Mini support – Emergency preparedness in the vicinity

WHO?
Associations or other smaller organizations can apply for up to SEK 30,000 in project support for rural development.

WHERE?
Anywhere in the municipalities: Hammarö, Grums, Kil, Forshaga, Kristinehamn, Storfors and Filipstad, as well as in Karlstad excluding urban area.

FOR WHAT?
Your project should in some way strengthen local preparedness and/or resilience (resilience/ability to cope with crises) in various crisis situations. Municipalities have a great responsibility when it comes to preparedness – but there are more opportunities to help each other! A community center can, for example, become a gathering place for heat and the opportunity to charge phones. It can also involve efforts for self-sufficiency, inventory, purchase of equipment, workshops, training efforts, etc.

Leader Närheten now provides the opportunity to apply for project support to carry out a sub-activity in our umbrella project "Mini-support - Preparedness in Närheten"”

What is an Umbrella Project?
In an umbrella project, it is possible to seek support to implement a slightly smaller project. We distribute money – ”Mini-grants” – to sub-activities that fit into the umbrella project, and you can apply for a maximum of SEK 30,000 for your idea. (NB: We cannot provide support for regular operations, ongoing operations and maintenance, operations/activities that are already underway or things you would have done anyway without our support.)

Easier administration and faster decision-making processes should make it easier to go from idea to action, compared to running an entire project on your own. Leader Närheten is therefore the main project owner in this umbrella project, and welcomes everyone who wants to carry out sub-projects in Hammarö, Grums, Kil, Forshaga, Storfors, Filipstad and Kristinehamn as well as in Karlstad municipality excluding urban areas to apply to us.

The process briefly: Once we have received your application – or if you have questions first – we will help you further, and we may ask for some clarifications before we can decide to approve your project. Remember that you must be completely clear about what you need to buy in your project and how much it will cost – so check the pricing information and save them for the application. We are happy to help with how to fill out the application, just ask!

Once you have been approved, you can get started with the project! We will then go through what you need to know and think about during the project. When everything is ready, you will report to us.

We will help you with how it works from start to finish!

About the umbrella project

Mini support – Emergency preparedness in the vicinity

Due to both the pandemic and the war in our local area, people's awareness of preparedness has increased and there is also a gap in terms of support and investments. Leader Närheten has been represented by both the office and members at conferences organized by Region Värmland with a focus on preparedness - there it became clear that there is no body for associations and other actors to turn to for financial support for, for example, inventorying and establishing various preparedness functions in the smaller town. Leader Närheten therefore wants to implement the umbrella project to make it easier for local actors to carry out sub-activities and contribute to strengthening local preparedness.

Mini support – Emergency preparedness in the vicinity is a project within SP 2023-2027 and the Leader Neighbourhood focus area Smart Rural Areas.

The purpose of the project is to make it easier for idea carriers to implement smaller projects and strengthen local preparedness and resilience in society.

The goal is to administer the umbrella project and distribute support to at least 8 sub-activities linked to strengthened preparedness and resilience.

The activities in projects are project management, administration, processing, information dissemination, project coaching, meetings and sub-activities.
