Mini-support – restoration of natural & cultural environments

A LAG-owned umbrella project that will make it easier for smaller local actors to implement efforts to preserve/restore significant natural or cultural environments.

About the project

Natural and cultural environments are at risk of disappearing unless concrete efforts are made to preserve them. The local environment is important for people's health, well-being and sense of community and historical roots. For example, natural beaches can become overgrown with reeds due to how water levels are regulated - thus disrupting environments that would otherwise have looked different. Within the framework of this type of measure, it is also relevant to look at it from a tourism industry perspective; by making nature and culture accessible, tourists can be attracted to the area.

Leader Närheten runs this umbrella project to provide easily accessible support for sub-activities in favor of the restoration of natural and cultural environments. These environments
are often very important for both locals and visitors and are a designated area in the development strategy. We know from experience that this type of support is sought after around the villages but that it can be difficult for a smaller association to apply for a larger project. Leader Närheten therefore wants to implement the umbrella project to make it easier for local actors to carry out sub-activities that contribute to the goal.

Project purpose and goals

The purpose of the project is to increase the achievement of goals in our strategy and make it easier for idea carriers to implement smaller projects and initiatives for natural and cultural environments, which is an area where we notice a great demand for support.

The goal is to administer the umbrella project and distribute support to at least 8 sub-activities linked to natural and cultural environments.

The activities in projects are project management, administration, processing, information dissemination, project coaching, meetings and sub-activities.
