Leader Närheten is a non-profit association that works for sustainable rural development in the municipalities of Karlstad, Hammarö, Grums, Kil, Forshaga, Kristinehamn, Storfors and Filipstad. The association is open for membership to anyone within the geographical area of operation who sympathizes with the association's purpose.
Become a member
The association is open for membership to anyone within the geographical area of operation who sympathizes with the association's purpose. Membership in the Association of the Neighborhood is free of charge. Anyone who is willing to work to promote the association's goals and otherwise follow the association's statutes and decisions made in accordance with the statutes. Membership is approved by the board after written application. Membership is renewed annually after an update request that the office sends out to the member's last registered email address.
To have the right to vote at the general meeting, a member must be registered in the membership register no later than when the notice of the general meeting is sent out.
The board may refuse a request for membership only if it can be assumed that membership will counteract the association's goals or purpose. Both natural and legal persons can be members.

GDPR
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which is a common set of regulations for the entire EU, applies to all businesses that process personal data. As a non-profit association, we need certain information to administer our membership register (which you provide when applying). This information is stored with us as long as you are a member and we use the information to send out member information and to draw up membership lists in connection with member meetings/annual meetings. You can request your withdrawal from the association at any time by contacting us and your information will then be removed from our register. All member information will be deleted when the association ceases to exist.
