The Leader project Vänerresurs 2.0

The main purpose of the project is to strengthen the development of Lake Vänern's fishing resources from a sustainability perspective, by supporting processes among relevant actors around Lake Vänern, conveying knowledge and continuously obtaining/updating information, increasing the proportion of development funds for the lake and collaborating with other actors for long-term management.

The project is a collaborative project between three Leader areas around Lake Vänern: Leader Närheten, Leader Framtidsbygder and Leader Nordvästra Skaraborg. Leader Närheten is the administrative party in the project and is therefore also the association that will be the project manager's place of employment. The Leader office is located in Skattkärr in Karlstad, Skogsvallsvägen 45.

Job duties
As a project manager, you are responsible for the project's implementation and goal achievement, according to the project plan, schedule and project budget. You report continuously to the steering group and the leader office that has overall responsibility for the project and you receive some administrative support. The project covers Lake Vänern as a whole and your geographical field of work extends around Lake Vänern, within the framework of the three leader areas that collaborate in the project.

Qualifications and profile
We are looking for someone who has knowledge and interest in fishing, tourism and water issues. You should also share our commitment to ensuring that sustainability and environmental considerations permeate the project. To fit the role, you need to be used to working independently, goal-oriented and in dialogue with other actors. You are self-driven, but also part of the team – and understand the dynamics of collaboration. We value if you have established, relevant networks and knowledge of Lake Vänern and the surrounding countryside. Good verbal and written communication is a prerequisite. You also need to have a driver's license and access to your own car.

Meritorious for the position
Previous experience in project management and development work.
Experience with EU projects and administration, especially LEADER.
Formal education at university level, please justify in your application how your formal skills can strengthen our organization. This also applies to previous work experience - describe the relevance to the position.

The association
Leader Närheten works with locally led development within the Strategic Plan 2023-2027 and is based on the Leader method. Our steering document is the local development strategy for the Leader area, which includes eight municipalities: Karlstad (excl. urban area), Kristinehamn, Hammarö, Grums, Kil, Filipstad, Forshaga and Storfors.

Service
Fixed-term employment, full-time approximately 27 months. Monthly salary as agreed.
