What is an Umbrella Project?

In an umbrella project, it is possible to seek support to implement a slightly smaller project.. We distribute checks for sub-activities in the project and you can apply for a maximum of 30,000 SEK for your idea. (We cannot provide support for ordinary business/activities.)

Easier administration and faster decision-making processes should make it easier to go from idea to action, compared to running an entire project on your own. Leader Närheten is therefore the main project owner in this umbrella project, and welcomes anyone who wants to carry out sub-projects in Karlstad excluding the urban area, Hammarö, Grums, Kil, Forshaga, Storfors, Filipstad and Kristinehamn to apply to us.

Once we have received your quick application, we will help you further, and we have a few more questions before we can decide to approve your project. Please note that you must be completely clear about the expenses you will have in the project and have detailed pricing information for this.

Once you have been approved, you can get started with the project! When everything is ready, you will report to us – we will help you with how it works.

Below the image is a list of clarifications on terms we use in the mini-support process, please read them through.
The flowchart and clarification give you a comprehensive picture of what it's like to apply for mini-grant and implement your project.

Mini support, clarification

Quick application
The quick application is a comprehensive description of your idea. From the quick application we can see if your project would fit within the selected support.

Official application
This is the document that is your actual application for support. In the official application, you answer several questions in more detail and show what expenses the project will have, so that we can get a clear picture of your project.

Price information
A price quote shows what you intend to buy and how much it costs. It could be a quote or another type of document. An example of another type of document could be a screenshot of a shopping cart at an online store.

Quotes
A quote is a written offer from a company to a customer. The quote usually contains proposed prices and terms for a product or service.

Since a quotation is a proposed sales document, it is important that all parts included in the quotation are clear and correct. There is no legal requirement for what a quotation should contain, and therefore different quotations can look very different. However, some important points to keep in mind are:

  • the seller's name or company name, contact details and VAT registration number

  • description of the type of service or product in question and delivery time

  • price per unit and total price, and whether the price is stated including or excluding VAT

  • estimate of how long the work will take

  • delivery and payment terms

  • how long the price offer is valid

Completion
When supplementing your application, more information may be needed. For example, it may be that you need to clarify something or that something needs to be changed.

Agreement
A legally binding agreement between two parties regarding their rights and obligations towards each other.

Agreements that may be relevant for projects include, for example, right-of-use agreements, land agreements, cooperation agreements, etc.

Condition
It is important that you find out whether your project requires a permit, registration or some form of notification to authorities, municipalities or other organizations.

There may be requirements for you who will be running the business or for the premises that you will be using. In order to start and run your business, you may need to apply for a permit or make a notification. Sometimes you must get approval and sometimes it is enough to submit information. Laws and regulations determine what is required. Authorities that issue permits can be local, regional or nationwide. Examples of local and regional authorities are municipalities and county administrative boards. Examples of nationwide authorities are the Swedish Food Agency and the Public Health Agency.

Permits that may be relevant for projects include building permits, police permits, food approvals, coastal protection exemptions, etc.
