Service point Värmskog

In 2016, a futures group for Värmskog worked on a vision proposal for what they want Värmskog to look like in 10 years. Based on this vision, the project was launched – to develop a service point for the region where activities aimed at developing tourism, new entrepreneurship, social and technical services and education can be combined in the same premises.

The Värmskog Rural Community Association has now built a service point. The building houses premises that can be used by tourists, visitors, permanent residents and conference guests. The idea is that the residents of the village will be able to get help with simple IT support or computer questions or just come in to have a meeting. There is a sale of various local products as well as coffee and ice cream, etc. The shop section has also been developed to be able to deliver pre-ordered grocery bags in collaboration with the village store. The business will be able to develop gradually as the need arises for new service functions for the countryside.

Collaboration with the adjacent tourist attraction Värmskogs Café has increased the added value for visitors. There are now enough suitable premises to handle a good reception of tourists and to combine this with new service solutions for the area. The building has become the desired hub for service, business development and tourism – the Service Point is an attractive entrance for all the businesses that are now located here and forms a front that more clearly highlights the premises as a community center for many different types of visitors.

The project has been carried out with local craftsmen, local suppliers of products and food and in collaboration with several associations and actors, such as a parents' cooperative, Värmskogs Sports Club, the local history association and Värmskogs Café.
